History

Formed in 1880, ThyssenKrupp Palmers Ltd have become specialists in long term industrial service maintenance contracts and fastrack construction projects. We undertake our business via a network of regional offices strategically located to services areas of both the industrial and commercial market sectors. With a workforce in excess of 800, our network enables us to offer an array of specialist services, to any industry, from a single location.

Within the industrial market sector, our services can be supplied on either a single discipline or multidiscipline basis to suit customer requirements and incorporate Access/Scaffolding, Specialist Coatings including Shotblasting, Thermal Insulation, Passive Fire Protection and Industrial Cleaning.

Our contract activity also encompasses the supply, erection, hire and dismantling of scaffolding and other alternative access systems to the construction industry where leading edge solutions are provided to refurbishment and new build projects both large and small from housing developments to commercial complexes and from bridge repairs to historic monuments, government buildings and work on the railway and airports infrastructure.

In September 1999, the business interests of Palmers Limited were acquired by ThyssenKrupp AG, a company with a worldwide consolidated turnover in excess of £29 billion per annum and employing almost 200,000 people.

The management team within ThyssenKrupp Palmers Ltd are galvanised by the depth of resource of the new parent, which will allow them to offer a global service on either a single or multi-discipline basis to their major clients within the integrated services industry.
